Are the plumbers licensed?
Every job is done by licensed plumbers, including gas fitting and drainage. The same licence rules apply whether it is a washer or a full hot water replacement.
Which suburbs do you cover?
The suburb plus its neighbours: Cardiff, Cardiff South, Lakelands, Warners Bay and Speers Point. If you sit near a boundary, just ask when you call and we will confirm.
Do I need to be home for the quote?
It helps, but it is not essential. As long as we can access the area, we can look, price the job and talk it through with you by phone afterwards.

What plumbing work do you handle?

Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
If the fault is a valve or element on a younger tank, repair makes sense. On many streets here the original units have cycled through already, so see hot water repair and replacement.
Who fixes a water meter problem, Hunter Water or me?
Hunter Water looks after the meter itself, while the pipes on your side are your responsibility. If you are unsure where the fault sits, we can test the line and tell you.
Do you handle gas fitting?

The local area
The suburb's own plumbing quirks get a section of their own, because they shape a lot of the calls we get. Slopes, clay pipes, mature gardens and storm cells all play a part.
Why do drains block so often here?
Two things. The 1970s streets were sewered in clay pipe, and reactive soil opens those joints over time. Mature figs and gums then send feeder roots straight into the weakened lines.
Does the slope change how drainage works?
It does. Housing stacked up the hillside means retaining walls, charged stormwater lines and pits on most blocks, and runoff gathers speed downhill after a storm. Our blocked stormwater page covers it.
What are the homes like to work on?
At the last census, 97.8% of dwellings were separate houses, mostly brick veneer from the late-1960s build. Good access on most jobs, though original copper services can pinhole where they cross corrosive fill.
How much rain does the area cop?
Census-era records put the average at 1,094mm a year, and a lot of it arrives in short sharp cells. That is why blocked drains spike after afternoon storm cells.
